ATRAMAT® PGC 25

ATRAMAT PGC25 is a monofilament, absorbable surgical suture of synthetic origin. At the microscopic level, it exhibits minimal tissue reaction after implantation and during the resorption phase. PGC25 offers a predictable resorption rate and high tensile strength. Thus, ATRAMAT PGC25 provides crucial tissue support, particularly during the critical healing period.

Tip: For thicker needles, a surgical knot and a simple knot should be tied. For thinner needles, two square knots with two or three additional wraps are recommended. The ends of the knot should be 4 to 5 mm long. ATRAMAT PGC25 is offered with a wide range of atraumatic, precision-sharpened needles of the highest quality, enabling excellent surgical results. Raw material: Polyglycolide-co-epsilon-caprolactone
Composition: 75% polyglycolic acid, 25% polycaprolactone
Absorption: Delayed hydrolysis complete after 90-120 days, approximately 60% of initial tensile strength within the first week
Coloring: Undyed and violet (D&C No. 2)
Sterilization: Chemically sterilized with ethylene oxide

Caution: As ATRAMAT PGC25 is a resorbable suture material, it is contraindicated in cases where extended tissue support is required for an undefined period. Caution is advised when using it in elderly, malnourished, and immunocompromised patients, in whom the critical wound healing phase may be prolonged.
